Architecture of a Study Program
Cognitive Informatics is focused on developing students’ ability to work with all kind of information. Unlike an often used term ‘computer literacy’ there is an ability to use a computer a means, not an objective. Study program aims to gain skills to search for information, orientate in them, classify them and process in a whole context.
Name ‘Cognitive Informatics’ reflects that teaching cognitive science has had a long tradition at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics.
Apart from the ability of active searching, classifying and processing information, a graduate of the program knows, how processes are are created, used and what their role is within self-organization of complex systems.
